Mood disorders are very common. They affect 1 in every 5 people at some point and yet few people seek treatment. Patients may not mention their moods because they’re afraid to talk about it or they don’t recognize that they’re experiencing a treatable illness.
This website was created to raise awareness about mood disorders and connect people with resources to get help if they need it. It was launched in 2006 as part of an awareness campaign throughout Toronto, and in 2007 it was advertised across Ontario. A resource guide was prepared for physicians and pharmacists to provide support for dealing with mood disorders in the context of a family practice.
